After the first round Stan and Sheryl Zuly of Port Hope were the early leaders with a score of 18 points. Five of the Cobourg teams were first round winners but unfortunately four of them would be drawn against each other in the second round which reduced the chances of a Cobourg win. Second was the Madoc team of Larry and Elva Wilson (31 points). In third place were Dave and Kathleen Shirley of Cobourg (30 points); fourth were Susan Logeman and Fred Thompson from Oshawa (28 points).
